Website Creation?

I have started working on a website but before i get to far i wanted to get some information about how other people create their websites. Is it better to create a website using div tags and then use javascript to organize the site or create the site the conventional way?

It is up to you. I'd recomment to stick on the most simple method unless your expectations are for a more complex result.
But a Javascript driven menu can be certainly easier to manage than a pure html one.
